If we don’t find our observer within, it will appear as I we are in a competition for our very lives. Is there a way forwards for us from a war lover to a neighbor to all? We are capable of changing 🤔 or evolving…
I often hear people say that competition makes them better. I also hear people say that their greatest competitor is themself. While competition is something that usually adds stress to my life, I consider their point of view and note that in nature, stress is not all bad. My favorite parts of watching the Olympics this year have been moments in which athletes share their joy and their sorrow even as they compete for gold, silver and bronze.
The challenges that I feel I grow from most, are those which are not hurtful to others, or even better when my growth intersects with the growth of others and we share that joy of accomplishment.
Competition results in win /lose situations.
And it encourages transactional relationships.
Spiritual growth requires inclusion and openness where everyone “wins”.
